Description

In case this wasn't fixed in the current version:

The final Dorn Il-Khan quest (one which leads to a fight at the other end of Baldurs Gate Bridge) seems to depend on what you say to the Flaming Fist person (named Scar) on the bridge. If you say you're from Candlekeep and get the quest for the Flaming Fist, Simmeons band doesn't appear and it should. If you don't get the quest but get told to find him in front of the Flaming Fist compound, the Simmoen gang shows up.

I appologize if it's a double report.

Cheers!

Also, are you able to provide a save at a suitable point please such as speaking to Scar.

Without such a file a suitable game has to be set up which can time consuming (in this case recruit Dorn and complete his previous steps plus potentially correctly resolve Cloakwood Mine rather than just jump to an area), but more importantly it increases the risk of differing from your save and not showing the same information. e.g. any previous conversation with Dorn may affect this and the issue cannot be reproduced.

By providing suitable repro steps such as saves you will increase the liklihood of your issues being correctly understood and addressed. More guidance can be found in the wiki above.

Thanks

Thank you for your attention, and I've been trying to reproduce it for some time yesterday, but couldn't, which is why I haven't posted up a save-game. I really should've known better and stored it properly immediately, but I lost so much time with it when it first happened that I was so glad to get it over with and only later remembered to report it. If I run into it again I'll be sure to supply the saved game.

Have just tried it in the 2.5 beta. Can't repro - replied about coming from Candlekeep to the mercenary and agreed to complete the quest from Scar, still got the Simmeon encounter (see screenshots), but I'm attaching 2 saves for the QA investigation - before travelling to the Wyrm's Crossing with Dorn for the first time and before talking to the Flaming Fist mercenary.

Have found a clue from another user:
"I've had probs with the Dorn/Simmeon quest at that point several times, even in an unmodded game (BDog supplied, v2.3). Mine have all been associated with dropping Dorn at some point before I enter the city. The safest way I have noticed with him is to either keep him the whole time after joining or have him join and do ALL his quests before entering BG."

Have checked in the 2.5.10 beta (dropped Dorn after loading the 000000550-Before going to the Wyrm_s Crossing.zip save, then took him in the FAI, and the quest still ran fine.

Without a save that can repro this issue or more specific repro steps there isn't much we can do here. If a save/better repro steps are found, please open a new ticket with both attached.

Thanks to everyone who helped out in this thread!
